June Favourites

Sunday 1 July 2012 16:31

I can't believe it is the end of the month again! Time is going so quick. This post is going to be my favourite beauty/cosmetic products of the month, I'll explain each one briefly as I go along. I tried to narrow it down to less products than last month, as I know I got perhaps a little over-enthusiastic in May!

I will go from left to right, back row to front row:

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream: I have the shade 'light'. I only started using this product this month as an alternative to foundation for Summer and I love it. I won't go on about it too much, as I just posted a review on it here.

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream: Recently I have found that my usual favourite hand cream, Soap and Glory's 'Hand Food', hasn't been keeping my hands as moisturised as I would like. I have some areas of really rough skin on my hands and so I need a really good moisturiser to help hydrate my skin and get rid of my 'rhino skin' patches! I find that this does the job perfectly, especially when I wear it at night with cotton gloves.

The Body Shop Beautifying Mango Oil: I use this as a sort of mask treatment every week or so to freshen my skin up a little and I really like it. Again I won't talk about it too much, as I have already posted an in-depth review of it here.

Soap and Glory 'Glad Pits' Deodorant Spray: I have wanted to try this for a while, but it is usually around £4.50 from Boots which is a little pricey for a deodorant. However, certain summer products are on 3-for-2 at Boots at the moment and the 'Glad Pits' were half price! So, I jumped at the chance and bought 3 for the price it would usually have cost for one of them. I am glad I did as it is really good! The scent is quite floral, which I wasn't expecting, but I like it.

Ted Baker Body Spray in 'Origami' Scent: I have had this for a while now and I am completely in love with it. The scent is described by the company as having hints of vanilla, raspberry, sandlewood and rose; I must say I can pick out each of them in the scent. It is so lovely, quite a wintery scent in my opinion, but I still wear it every day! It lingers on the skin for hours, though I do like to top it up regularly.

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Mascara: I have this in 'brown', though the effect it has is quite dramatic and it is currently my favourite mascara. It makes such a difference to the length of my lashes and makes them look full and defined. However, I am not sure if it is discontinued now as I can't find it anywhere and I bought this one for £1 from Pound World! I am kicking myself for not buying a few tubes now.

2True Twist n Line Eye Definer: I can't for the life of me find the shade I have! I can tell you it is a kind of dark, natural green however and there are only 2 green shades stocked in Superdrug so you should find it if you wanted to. I use this on my upper lash line as I have green eyes and it makes the colour seem stronger. It is great with some black kohl liner on the bottom lash line too for a natural look!

Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen: I have used this for about 5 years now! It remains as my favourite black eyeliner, I use it mainly for my lower lash line. It is retractable so it lasts quite a while with no sharpening. However, this is also slightly negative, as it means the nib is a little blunt for the upper lash line or eye flicks.

Boots Essentials Cucumber Wipes: I use these to remove make-up. There isn't much to say about them, except that they are really cheap (often on 3 for £3!) and they do a perfect job, whilst smelling lovely and fresh too.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish: Shade 'Green With Envy'. I have mentioned this before I think, but I am in love with the colour. It looks drastically different in different lights, sometimes appearing turquoise, other times a vivid emerald green. It is just beautiful! The formula is unbeatable too.

Superdrug's 'Little Green Tin' Lip Balm: Well, It is more of a jelly than lip balm, as it is Superdrug's own version of the Vaseline lip tins. I have used this more than my Carmex this month as it just does such a good job of moisturising my lips! It has a delicious apple scent too which just makes me want to eat it! I definitely recommend this as it is cheap and does a fantastic job!

    1. I find it quite light but I haven't got much to compare it too. I have just bought Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which I hear is great for light coverage! :)xxx

I really like Maybelline Mascaras (Volume Turbo Boost was my first ever mascara, and I still like it!) so I'm not surprised that the mascara worked well for you!

  10. The Body Shop mango oil sounds really fruity and nice for the skin :) I've only tried the Garnier BB cream on my hand in the shop and I wasn't sure about how much coverage it would give. I didn't really like the scent but I've heard quite a few people give positive reviews so I'm tempted to give it another try.
