Face of the Day for Green Eyes: Featuring Benefit, 2True, Revlon, Barry M and more!

Tuesday 10 July 2012 15:52

Today's post is a quick and simple make-up look that I have been wearing almost every day recently. It is a look aimed at people with green eyes, but I am sure it would look good whatever colour your eyes are! I will explain it in short steps and let you know the products I have used to create the look.

Above is a close-up shot of my eye after creating the look. Sorry for the off-centre position I am in, I couldn't for the life of me take a picture with my eye in the centre of the shot!

Above is a full face shot, as I thought I would let you know my every-day face make-up for the moment too. Okay, here it goes!

Face: I always start off with my face make-up, though it doesn't really matter what order you do it all in. After applying my moisturiser (Olay Beauty Fluid for those interested!) I apply my BB cream all over my face. The cream I use is Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in shade 'Light', which I reviewed here recently in more detail. After this, I use 17 Hide and Chic concealer in shade 'Light Rose'. I use this concealer to dab lightly onto my dark circles under my eyes as I find it hides them really well. I then take Soap and Glory's Kick Ass Concealer in 'Light', using the yellowish colour to hide any redness and blemishes on my face. For blusher I have been using my Elf Color Stick in 'Pink Lemonade', which is a kind of cream stick that I apply directly to the apples of my cheeks and use my fingers to blend it upwards. I've just realised I haven't included it in the products image below, but I have pictures of it on my Elf collection post here if you would like to see it. To finish off my face make-up, I use 17 Miracle Matte Pressed Powder in 'Natural Fair' to get rid of any shine.

Eyes: This is a really easy eye look to do. I start off by taking my 2True Defining Twist & Line in 'Shade 4' , which is a deep green with slight shimmer. I apply this to my upper lash line, staying quite close to the line. I then take my Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen and line my lower lash and water line, pressing on fairly lightly so that it doesn't look too dark and heavy. To finish off this eye look, I used a sample of Benefit's Bad Gal Lash that I received free in last month's Glamour magazine. I used 2 coats of the mascara to achieve this effect.

Lips: As the eye make-up in this look is quite bright, I wanted to keep the focus on my eyes and decided to use a muted lip shade to compliment it. I used Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in shade 'Pink Ice', which is a sheer pink colour with gorgeous shimmer.

So there you have it! The products I used in this look were:
  • Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in 'Light'- £7.49 from Superdrug (usually £9.99!)
  • 17 Hide and Chic Concealer in 'Light Rose'- £4.99 from Boots
  • Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in 'Light'- £10 from Boots
  • Elf All Over Color Stick in 'Pink Lemonade'- £1.50 from eyeslipsface.co.uk
