Review: Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum

Friday 6 July 2012 18:40

I have another review for you today! This time I will be telling you what I think of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, which is one of the newer foundations to the Bourjois collection. I have the second from lightest shade, which is shade 52 (Vanille). In hindsight I think that I could possibly have done with the next darker shade, but I think the one I do have isn't too far from a perfect match.

I bought this foundation as my Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hours feels a little heavy in the warmer weather and I thought the Healthy Mix Serum would be good on the days I want a little more coverage than my BB cream can offer. So far I am really happy with it, although the coverage is quite light still but I would say it is definitely a little heavier than my BB cream. You can see below the effect it has on my skin; the image to the left is my face with no make-up on (a sight for sore eyes!) and the image to the right shows my face after applying the Healthy Mix Serum.

This product is different to ordinary foundations as it has a gel-like texture, which I actually really like as it makes it really easy to blend and build up layers for a heavier coverage. It has a dewy finish similar to that of a BB cream which is good for my dry skin, although it can be transformed into a matte texture easily with a good powder over the top.

All-in-all, I am really pleased with this foundation and I think it will become a staple for me in Summer, especially when the rain finally disappears. This serum cost me £10.99 from Boots and is currently in their 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois products!

  1. Nice review, I might give this a try! I have oily skin, so I don't know how the dewy finish on this is going to affect it, but maybe I'll get a sample first to see how it wears. :) It looks lovely on you, very natural looking!

  5. Great review! I am still yet to find my 'perfect' foundation so may have to try this in the future! I'm currently using the Soap & Glory one which is quite a light coverage foundation.
