MUA Single Eyeshadow Review: Pearl Shades 9 and 12
Tuesday, 21 August 2012 20:16
Hello! Today's post is a review of MUA's single eyeshadows- in particular the pearl shades. I have had both of these for a while now but I thought it was about time I gave them a post of their own because they are possibly the best value make-up products I own, costing a cool £1 each! MUA is a great budget make-up brand that can be found online (www.muastore.co.uk) or in Superdrug stores, with many of the products available for just £1 and eyeshadow palettes for as little as £4.
There is a huge range of shades to choose from in the single eyeshadow range, but I am going to be talking about the 2 I own: Pearl shades 12 (left) and 9 (right). The pearl shades are my favourites of the collection as they look different in every light and are just so beautiful.
The quality of these eyeshadows is just amazing for the price. Every time I have worn either of these shadows, which I must admit is quite often, they have lasted all day without creasing. I do wear a primer underneath them but I am confident that the primer isn't the entire reason why they don't crease, as I have a few higher end shadows that crease even when worn with a primer. I think the quality of these shadows could easily be compared to the liked of MAC or Urban Decay. Just to give you an idea of the excellent staying power of these eyeshadows, I can tell you I had to SCRUB the swatches from below off my hand! Amazing for a £1 eyeshadow. The pigmentation of both shade is also excellent and can't be faulted.
The 3 images below show the packaging and swatch for pearl shade 9, which is one of my favourite eyeshadows of all time. It doesn't show brilliantly in the photos, but it is a purple shimmer colour that has bright blue iridescence- how beautiful is it!? I wear this even for everyday just on my lids under my crease for a 'pop of colour' with black eyeliner on my upper lash line and it looks amazing.
Below are the photos of pearl shade 12, another favourite in my eyeshadow collection. This one is perhaps much more wearable for everyday as the colour isn't as bold as shade 9. This shade really doesn't translate in the photos, but is actually an olive-brown shade in the pan, that shines with bronze iridescence in the light. It goes perfectly with green eyes which is great for me. The swatch shows the iridescence quite well:
To wrap up this post, I will say that for £1 each, these eyeshadows are an absolute triumph from MUA. I have tried a few of their products and these are my favourites, although the brand as a whole is fantastic value for money and quality. What do you think? Have you tried any of the other shades or have any shade recommendations for me?
PS. I will be holding a giveaway when I reach 250 followers! Spread the word :)

DeleteIt is a lovely colour! Very bright but I find it looks good and not too scary if you don't cake it right up to the crease haha!xxx
