Little Haul: TK MaxxFriday, 7 September 2012 19:37
I went on a shopping trip with my boyfriend recently and I always look in TK Maxx, as they usually have loads of really nice t-shirts and shoes for bargain prices. However, I looked at the cosmetics section and was SO excited to see that they sold NYX make-up! Not only that, but a palette I have wanted for ages but that you can't readily buy from the UK (usually anyway!)...
This is the NYX Nude on Nude palette, which features 20 neutral eyeshadows and 10 wearable lip gloss pans. I've wanted this for about a year, since seeing a few American YouTubers rave about it and I actually had it in my Amazon wish list as you could get it from a seller on there for about £18, but my local TK Maxx had it for an unbelievable £14.99! Of course there was no way that I could pass up that deal so I bought it. I've actually used it a few times already and the quality of the eyeshadows is excellent. There is a mixture of both matte shades and shimmery shades, although none are too shimmery or have any glitter chunks in them which for me is perfect. The shades range from matte beige to deep shimmery browns and blues, just perfect for anyone out there who loves creating a natural eye look and wants their shadows in one place!
I haven't tried the lip glosses yet, as I don't usually like having them in pans as they get very dirty very quickly, but the colours provided are beautiful. I actually think that this was supposed to come with sponge applicators but they were missing as I discovered when I got home- I wasn't bothered though as I usually throw them anyway! I will no doubt be writing a review and swatches post of this palette soon so stay tuned.
The second thing I bought was this pair of Keds shoes. I have been lusting after Keds in Schuh for ages but didn't want to pay the slightly hefty prices for them as I already own so many pairs of Converse and Vans, I couldn't justify buying Keds too. I saw these lovely things in TK Maxx for £14.99 and in my size! They have a gorgeous colourful floral pattern and special insoles with padding around the arch of your foot to make them really comfortable and supportive. I love them!
What bargains have you come across recently? Has anybody else tried this NYX palette?
