Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Lovesick': Review and Swatches
Wednesday 26 September 2012 15:08
Okay, so I know these things are probably old news by now- but I've had a couple of these for a while now and I thought it was time to finally get talking about them myself! The shades I own are 'Lovesick' and 'Rendezvous' and I actually have hugely different opinions on the two shades, so with this in mind I thought I would review them separately as I did with the lip butters a few months ago. The shade I will talk to you about today is 'Lovesick'.
Revlon say that the balm stains contain a lightweight lip stain combined with a lip softening/smoothing formula , to provide a wash of colour whilst not drying out your lips. As far as this shade is concerned, I can say the stain is excellent and really doesn't budge, no matter whether you have been eating, talking, drinking etc. However, the balm side of the product doesn't last long; it applies smoothly and feels moisturising at first but this soon wears away leaving only the stain behind. This is a big improvement on other stains I have tried however, as for me I feel that if a stain applies smoothly and evenly with a bit of moisture, it is something worth talking about! This one certainly does.
I love the packaging and design of these balm stains. As you can see, they come in the form of a crayon with a twist-up end (with a huge amount of product inside!). The shape of them makes it so easy to apply the balm stain quickly, evenly and neatly.
'Lovesick' is a beautiful colour, a vivid hot pink that transfers onto the lips a little more subdued and subtle which I love. The thing that amazes me about this product is how long the colour lasts for- I wouldn't need to reapply it throughout the day at all, the only reason I do from time to time is to top up the 'balmy' aspect of the product.
So, there you have it! I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on this product, which I think is another Revlon triumph. As I mentioned, I will be reviewing the shade 'Rendezvous' soon too. I would love to try 'Crush' as it seems like a lovely dramatic colour, perfect for Autumn! The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are available from Boots and Superdrug for £7.99.
Do you have any of these? What do you think to them?
