Make-Up and Cosmetics Storage

I have quite a photo heavy post for you today, but one that I am really excited to write about for you! I am going to give you a brief tour of where I store my make-up, cosmetics and hair care products. Before I moved in with my boyfriend this year, I lived at home with my parents and my make-up was just kind of spread out over the bathroom and the room I share with my sister! So when we got our flat I made it my mission to store my make-up, nail polish etc in a neat and tidy way and I have so far managed to stick to it pretty well. I won't go into the products in each drawer, but if you spot anything you would like me to post about individually; review etc, then do let me know. The drawers I use are Helmer from Ikea and they were just £25 and so easy to assemble. They came in red, silver or white and as you can see, I chose white. I will write about what is in each drawer above each of the images:
Odds and Ends Drawer: Essential miscellaneous items such as face wipes, contact lenses, nail polish remover etc. This drawer doesn't really have a rule as to what goes in it, but it has odds and ends inside that have no other place to go.
Body Products Drawer: This drawer has things like my body moisturisers, hair removal cream, hand antibac gel, body sprays etc inside it. It also has my Olay day and night facial moisturisers in it too.
Hair Care Drawer: This normally has a few more things in it, but I have just run out of a few things in the past few days! As you can see, this is where I keep my brushes, hair spray, dry shampoo and hair ties amongst other things.
Face/Lips Drawer: Looking at this drawer makes me realise how many lip products I must have floating around inside my handbags, as many of my favourites are missing! However, this is where I keep my lip products, blushes, powder, foundation, BB Cream and other things.
Eyes Drawer: This is where my eyeliners, mascaras and eyeshadows live. At the back you can see my Urban Decay, MAC and Nyx palettes, my Eco Tools brush set is also at the back. There are a few of my palettes that I am thinking of blogging about too- I have the original Urban Decay Book of Shadows and I have loved it to death (and it looks like I have too), so I might post about that soon!
Nails Drawer: Wow, what a ridiculously large amount of nail varnish I have haha! It all lives in this drawer, along with a selection of nail wraps and manicure sets at the very back that haven't quite made it into the shot. This is possibly my favourite drawer, there is something really satisfying about having all your nail polishes in one organised place!
So there you have it, thanks for reading! I'd love to hear how you store your collection- and also any tips you might have for me to help me to improve my storage layout maybe?

DeleteYou should invest in getting some Antonius Drawe Inserts also from Ikea as they're the perfect size to fit in the Helmer and help keep everything organised. I currently own seven of these distributed between my two helmers and they're cheap as chips! Only £1.70 each :) xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip! I didn't even know they existed :) I will definitely look out for them, it would be nice to not have everything rolling about when the drawers are opened! xxx
DeleteI own these drawers as well. I use mine mainly for nail polish! Great post.
