TAG: I Love Drugstore/Highstreet Make-upTuesday, 6 November 2012 16:04
This is an easy question for me at the moment, it absolutely has to be Revlon! I just think the quality of their products is excellent for the price and their shade ranges are almost perfect. Their lip products and nail products are especially good!
2. What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products?
Face: My current favourite face product is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. It is so light and wearable and it smells just heavenly- although the scent does wear off quickly.
Cheeks: Miners are my favourite for blushes- I know they are a little hard to come by in shops, but their prices are drugstore/high street and such good value for money. (For the record, you can buy Miners Cosmetics from http://www.minerscosmetics.co.uk/ )
Lips: This is such a toughie. I would probably say the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, with the shade 'Crush' in particular (which I reviewed here). However, L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks come a really close second.
3. Least favourite product?
I've not really had any awful experiences of any products. However, I tried my sister's L'Oreal Nude Magique BB cream over the Summer as she said she didn't like it and it was just awful! It went on orange even though it was the lightest shade and got more orange the more you rubbed it in. Just horrid!
4. What is the best make-up bargain?
MUA Single Eyeshadows, hands down! For £1 each they have a huge collection of gorgeous shades that have quality comparable to Urban Decay shadows. What more could you ask for?
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
I would say the Miners Cosmetics Blusher/Bronzer blend in 'Sunblushed'. I think it is going to be discontinued soon which is a real shame, as it truly is the most natural and subtle blush that gives you a sunkissed glow. It deserves lots of praise, I wear it so often!
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
I would probably say L'Oreal mascaras. I hear so much about how good they are and really want to try them, but I can't really justify spending £10-£12 on a high street mascara when other brands such as Rimmel charge almost half the price. However, I am not knocking the product as I hear so many good things about them, I am just bitter that I can't afford to try them haha!
7. What's the best drugstore dupe?
MUA Single Eyeshadow in shade 12 is a really good dupe for MAC's 'Club', swatched you would barely tell the difference.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
This is a tricky one too as usually the hype is well deserved. I would probably say the Revlon Lip Butters, as although I love them to pieces and the shades are gorgeous, they break and melt so so easily it is unreal. I used 'Peach Parfait' about 5 times until it completely melted at the bottom and broke- messy stuff! Although I do love them on my lips!
So there you have it! I tag anybody who wants to do the tag :)
