Review: L'Oreal Color Riche Intense Lipstick in 'Red Passion'Tuesday, 18 December 2012 16:32
Lipstick reviews are one of my favourite things to post, so I am super excited to have another one for you today. I featured this in my L'Oreal haul post last week as it was the reason for my shopping trip; a bright red lipstick perfect for Christmas. I will try and keep the review straight to the point, as I can get carried away with these things!
The lipstick is from the Color Riche 'Made for Me' Intense line by L'Oreal Paris. The packaging looks almost high-end to me, with gold and silver both playing a part. The sticker on the side of the bullet suggested this shade is best for blonde haired people, but I think red lipsticks suit most people! I am certainly not blonde but shall wear it proudly hehe!
The colour pay off is fantastic, as you can see in the swatch below. The shade is 'Red Passion' or 297, which is a deep red that is perhaps a little darker than your average red lipstick. It is so easy to apply too, you don't really have to build up the colour at all which means less work and a quicker application to achieve the look you want.
The staying power of the lipstick is great, which I put down to the colour being so strong as it can leave a slight red stain on your lips when you wash it off, but it does come off eventually! Below is what the shade looks like on me. I love red lippie and this is sure to be a favourite in my limited collection! I think it is just perfect for the festive season and I will be wearing it on Christmas day.
This is the first shade of the L'Oreal Color Riche line that I have tried and I have to say that I am impressed. I do have another shade that came free with my purchase that I will be reviewing for you very soon. This lipstick can be bought from Boots for £8.19.
Also, after some researching I have just seen that this is a Cheryl Cole limited edition shade- it didn't say anything about it on the stand or packaging, how strange!
What do you think? Will you be wearing red lipstick this Christmas?
PS. A quick update, a lovely follower just reminded me that I forgot to mention that the lipstick has a subtle shimmer running through it, which doesn't show up well on the photo, but looks lovely and dresses my look up a bit! :)
