Schwarzkopf Essensity Volumising Pudding

Today I am going to be reviewing the Schwarzkopf Essensity Volumising Pudding* for you, which sounds delicious but I assure you it isn't edible unfortunately! Firstly, here is what Hairtrade say about the product:

"This strong control volumising pudding enables you to infuse lift into the hair and blow-dry with ease. It contains natural ingredient which is Red Vine Bud. The buds and young stems of the vine are very rich in nutritive substances such as Amino Acids, Enzymes, Oligo-elements and Sugars."

I was initially drawn to this product because as you may remember from previous posts, I have really fine hair that goes limp no matter how hard I try to inject some much needed volume into it: this 'pudding' claimed to fix that problem, so I just had to give it a go!

The packaging is quite simple, but the lid is ergonomic and easy to twist off. You get a good amount of product inside which is always a plus (100ml).

All Essensity products are made with natural ingredients and are free from artificial colourants and fragrances, silicones, PEG’s, paraffin/mineral oils and parabens, which is great and something that I know many people look for in a hair product.

The texture of the product is really unusual- actually very much like a pudding! It has a light consistency so it doesn't weigh hair down at all and it didn't feel at all sticky. I applied a small amount to my hair when it was wet, working it through from the roots to the ends. I then blow dried my hair as usual, as instructed. I noticed that there was a subtle difference to my hair once dried- I wouldn't say it boosted the volume a huge amount, but it definitely gave it a bit of a boost that actually lasted throughout the day, which is impressive on my hair!

I'm not sure if I would repurchase this product, but I think it makes a great treat for limp hair like mine every now and again! Especially because it left my hair feeling really soft and silky.

The Essensity Volumising Pudding is £9.51 from Hairtrade, one of the UK'S leading online hair extension and luxury hair and beauty product retailers.
