Today's nail of the day features a new addition to my growing collection! I haven't bought a new nail polish in months- around 7 months to be precise!- but I couldn't resist this in Superdrug the other day. The colour is 'Shooting Stars', part of Maybelline's new Polka Dot nails collection. It has a deep blue base and lots of matte glitter flecks of different sizes, making up this lovely dotty effect! I wasn't sure at first as it applied quite streaky, but applying two coats fixed this problem. I used OPI Nail Envy as a base and Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat.
As I am very close to finishing my final year of university, I have started to think a little more seriously about what to wear for my graduation ceremony which is in July. A few weeks ago, I bought a dress to wear on the day, a task I thought would take me much longer than it did! I don't often wear dresses as I struggle to find ones that suit my figure, but the one I decided on in the end was from Dorothy Perkins (linked and pictured below).
Berry Mesh Top Dress- £18- Dorothy Perkins
I didn't have much of an idea what I was looking for when I was dress shopping; but I knew I wanted something really simple without a print and with a high neckline. For £18 I thought the dress I purchased was a bargain! My thinking was that if I went simple with the dress, I could dress it up with some nice heels and jewelry but also wear it again in future.
This brings me onto my next point- shoes! I bought the dress almost a month ago but I have yet to find some suitable shoes to wear. I think I would like black shoes, but have also considered nude or navy blue as these are classic colours that would go with most outfits. However, I would love some input from my lovely readers as to what sort of shoes to go for! My only definite detail is that the shoes must be easy enough to walk in; ie. not too high or wedged heels. Here are a few potential pairs I have been looking at, but if anybody has any suggestions please throw them my way in the comments or tweet me @beckyleight.
Black Wedge Court Shoes- £30- Dorothy Perkins
Nude Mid High Wedge Court Shoes- £25- Barratts
Mid Ankle Strap Shoes- £28- Next
Patent High Court Shoes- £30- Next
Miss KG Cairo Wedge Heels- £56.25- Javari.co.uk
So there you have it, that is the kind of thing I am looking at currently but I am open for ideas! I am a bit of a rubbish girls in the heels department, owning just 1 pair of high heels! Shameful, I know; but also the reason I would love input and advice from readers a little more experienced in the shoe department than me!
Thanks for reading.
