Today's post is a review of one of my favourite lip products at the moment. They've been around for a good few months now, but I wanted to share my thoughts as once again Revlon has triumphed in my eyes!
Last year the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stains wowed so many of us bloggers and this year we are introduced to two new formulas of the Revlon Balms. Today I will be reviewing one of the matte formulas, but recently I bought one of the new lacquer balms too, which are amazing and I will be reviewing that one soon too.
The shade I bought was 'Striking'. I actually bought this the week they came out and really wanted the darker red, 'Sultry', but this was the only shade left in my local Boots store so I picked it up.
As you can see, 'Striking' is a bold red (the name of the shade is very appropriate!) that has strong orange tones. However, although it is a bold shade I feel it is easily wearable for everyday and I often reach for it as an easy pop of colour.
The formula is brilliant. It is easy to apply and lasts longer than the original balm stains- though I often find this to be the case with matte lip products. I find that the colour doesn't last too well when eating and drinking however so I like to top it up throughout the day when possible.
The matte finish is perfect, though I would recommend applying a lip balm beforehand as I find the matte finish to be a little drying. However, this wouldn't stop me wearing it as it really is brilliant!
The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms are available from Boots here for £7.99 each, although they are often on 3 for 2 so it is worth keeping an eye out for offers.
What do you think to the matte balms? Which shades would you recommend?
PS. Thank you for being patient with me as I have been a little distant from my blog over the last 2 months. It has been a massively hectic few months, but I am feeling more settled and I'm looking forward to getting back into the world of blogging once and for all :)
