Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Foundation ReviewFriday, 26 February 2016 12:00
My skin can be extremely hard to please sometimes. On one hand it can be dry in places and on the other hand, it can get really oily very quickly. Any foundation that claims to create a smooth, matte finish really appeals to me and so when I saw this product crop up at work I knew I had to try it for myself. This is the Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Foundation and the shade I have is 01 Linen.
The packaging of this foundation doesn't look quite as premium as some of the other Clinique foundations (I'm thinking of the premium glass bottle packaging of the 'Even Better' foundation in particular!) but the plastic tube means it is so easy to dispense the foundation onto a brush or the back of your hand and you won't get the same waste of product as you would with a glass bottle.
The texture is actually really light, which is something I don't usually expect from a matte foundation. It has quite a creamy consistency, which makes it easy to blend into the skin. Once applied it sets with a natural matte finish, which I love! It also lasts well throughout the day.
The only downside to this foundation is that the coverage isn't excellent. I'd describe it as light-medium, which isn't ideal for my acne scarred skin. However, paired with a heavy duty concealer, it creates the perfect finish. I wore this foundation in my recent make-up look post, so click here if you'd like to see it in action.
You can buy Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Foundation from Boots here for £22.50. If you are looking for a matte foundation that won't clog your pores, it's definitely worth taking the plunge!
What do you think? Have you tried this foundation?
