Rimmel The Only One Lipsticks

Rimmel was the brand I bought my first ever lipstick from many moons ago. I'm always really excited when they release a new formula and today I'm going to talk about one of their latest releases, The Only One lipsticks.

I was unsure about the name 'The Only One' as it seems a bit of a mouthful to me. However, they looked really interesting so it definitely didn't put me off! Rimmel describe them as a perfect all in one formula, created to be comfortable, long lasting and moisturising.

I really like the packaging of these lipsticks. They come in glossy black tubes with a neat shade indicator band of colour. The packaging feels premium which is great for the low price point.

One negative is the shape of the lipsticks themselves. They have a flat, round edge, which is great for quick application but not so great when it comes to creating a defined shape. I found this made them quite difficult to apply, particularly with the darker shade which was less forgiving than the nude.

The texture of the lipsticks is gorgeous however, They are so buttery and they just glide on, they are so comfortable to apply and wear. They last a long time on the lips and feel moisturising, which makes them great for those days where you know you won't have much time to reapply throughout the day.

The first shade I plumped for was 'Naughty Nude', a gorgeous pinky nude colour. It is the sort of nude that I imagine would suit most people and is definitely a shade I would recommend. The second shade I bought was 'One of a Kind', which disappointed me a little bit unfortunately. I thought it was going to be a flattering red, but on me it made me look washed out and pale. This shade also clung to all the dry areas of my lips, whereas the nude shade didn't. It was also so difficult to apply neatly because of the flat applicator.

To summarize, I think the Rimmel 'The Only One' lipsticks are a little hit and miss. I love the 'Naughty Nude' shade and I wear it often, but I won't ever be reaching for 'One of a Kind' sadly. I'd be interested to try some other shades from the range, any recommendations are welcome! You can purchase them from most Rimmel stockists such as Boots and Superdrug for £6.99 each.

What do you think? Have you tried these lipsticks too?
