My Favourite Lipsticks for Spring

Wednesday, 6 April 2016 12:00

Spring has definitely sprung! As I'm writing this the Sun is shining (it'll probably be raining again in no time, but we won't dwell on that..) and I thought I'd share my top lipstick picks for Spring. That being said, I definitely wear some of these lipsticks all year around, but they are definitely more Spring appropriate.

I'll go through them from left to right in the above images, here we go!:

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 'Sweet Tart'- I've love the Revlon Lip Butters since they came out a few years ago. This was one of the first shades that really 'wowed' me, as it had one of the more opaque finishes from the choice of shades available. It is a gorgeous bold candy pink that translates slightly more muted on the lips, making it a perfect everyday choice. The formula isn't very long lasting but it feels moisturising and comfortable. One thing to watch out for is that they can melt in the tube really easily!

MAC Lipstick in 'Mehr'- This is one of my favourite lipsticks to reach for every day at the moment. I wear it to work most days and recently reviewed it here. It is one of the slightly darker shades from the 5 picks, leaning more towards a nude pink. It has a matte finish which lasts ages on the lips, perfect for days when you don't want to keep having to touch up.

Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour in 'Curvy Candy'- This is one of the original Chubby Stick formulas, so it is super hydrating to wear. The colour is a beautiful baby pink, perfect to pair with flushed cheeks and flawless skin. The Chubby Sticks are so handy to carry around too, I find it easy to touch up throughout the day without the need for a mirror.

Miners The Matte Factor Lip Paint in 'Peach'- This is another of my all time favourite lip products. I discovered it years ago now, but still reach for it often. It sets to a perfect matte finish but doesn't feel drying at all. This shade is a wearable pinky peach, as the name would suggest! The formula is also really long-lasting, so it definitely deserves a place in my Spring picks.

MAC Lipstick in 'Chatterbox'- This was my first ever MAC lipstick! It is an amplified finish, so it is quite a bold, deep candy pink shade with a creamsheen finish. This is perfect for a night out as the colour packs a punch, but it could easily be toned down with a neutral make-up look.

L'Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in 'Aphrodite Scarlet'- I think this is a little hard to get hold of these days, but I love this lipstick formula. I reviewed this shade when I first purchased it a few years ago here. The formula is so lightweight and smooth, edging more towards a tinted lip balm than a lipstick. This shade is a gorgeous red-pink that goes on the lips as a sheer wash of colour.
