Stila 'In the Light' Eye Shadow Palette

Stila 'In the Light' Eye Shadow Palette

Today's post is very long overdue, as I bought this palette sometime last year and have never devoted a blog post to it. It has featured in lots of my recent make-up looks and favourite posts but I realised I never reviewed it, so today that will change! If you haven't guessed already, this is the Stila 'In the Light' eyeshadow palette.

There was a huge hype about this palette a few years ago when it first came out and I will definitely be adding to that hype with this post! It is Stila's best selling eyeshadow palette, consisting of 10 gorgeous neutral shades and a Smudge Stick eyeliner.

The shade range in this palette is brilliant, ranging from 'Bare' which is a creamy light matte highlight, to 'Ebony', a deep matte black. I've created so many different looks with this palette and think it is perfect for taking for make-up look from day to night. My favourite shades are 'Kitten', which is a cult Stila favourite and 'Night Sky', which is a gorgeous shimmering blue silver.

One of my favourite things about the palette is the mixture of matte and shimmery shades. Some of the shades even have flecks of subtle glitter, perfect for a dramatic evening look. I tend to use 'Kitten' and 'Sandstone' the most, pairing them together to create a neutral subtle smoky eye that is great for every day.

The texture of all of the shadows is beautiful- so soft and silky. The colour payoff is also great, although not quite as good as the likes of Urban Decay.

The packaging is lovely, with a good sized mirror in the lid. It is made of cardboard however, which means it does pick up muck and scratches very easily, as you may be able to see in my photos.

I love that the palette also comes with a Stila Smudge Stick twist-up eyeliner, which is a beautiful deep brown. It looks great when paired with the gold and brown shades from the palette and is really easy to smudge and blend into a smoky look.

Stila are selling this palette on sale for £17.50 at the moment here, so it's a perfect time to pick one up!

What do you think? Have you tried any Stila products?
